When you are using Facebook or Twitter for marketing you should have a social networking business plan in place to maximise your online efforts. This should include connecting with new people, commenting on updates and status, communicating with groups and pages and posting content.

You should just have a simple business plan that you follow each day to cover all the areas above. And it’s one of these areas I want to talk about today.

As part of using social networking in business the most import thing you can do is connecting with new people. Sharing content is great but it’s connect with different types of people that will give you the most exposure.

Adding friends is a great way to meet new people and to share ideas and interests and should be part of your strategic business plan online. If you’re busy then more often than not your friend requests will be accepted while you are away or asleep.

This is not a problem as most people will send a short welcome message to introduce themselves to you. This is something you should also do when accepting friends.

However I want to go into a subject that has bugged for quite sometime and would like your feedback on this.

Is offering a free gift on that first point of contact just plain spam?

I believe that it is and I will tell you why. It is part of our entire social networking business plan to help people by offering value and eventually have them join our list. That’s how we make money, from our lists and the relationship we have with the people on our lists.

These so called gifts can come as ebooks, videos or audios, just about anything that cost nothing to the sender.

So let me cut to the chase and cut through the BS for you. These free gifts are to serve one purpose and one purpose only and that is to get you onto a list so you can be marketed too.

I have no problem with free gifts, it’s what every marketer uses in exchange for your name and email address. That’s the deal, you give me your email address and I will send you some valuable information.

The problem is the way that it is done. I know that a friendship is like a gift but just because I have accepted you as a friend on Facebook doesn’t mean we are friends yet. Friendship is about building a relationship and getting to know the person. So as part of your simple business plan forget the free gift and work on the relationship.

We all know where the free gift is heading and that is onto your list. I might not need or want your free gift and I know you think it’s a nice thing to do but we can see though it now.

Build Relationships as Part of Your Social Networking Business Plan

Find out a little bit about the person you have connected with. You don’t have to ask them about business. Ask about the hobbies their likes and dislike. Get to know them as a person. Social networking in business is all about knowing people and what they want.

Once you have found out more about someone they will be more open to your offer of help. You wouldn’t go up to a complete stranger and give them a free gift would you?

Accounting has been defined as, accounting professor at the University of Michigan, William A. Paton as having a basic function: ‘facilitating the administration of economic activity. This function has two closely related phases: 1) measurement and predispose to economic data, and 2) communicate the results of this process to interested parties.

As an example, a company’s accountants periodically measure the profit and loss for a month, quarter or fiscal year and publish these results in a profit and loss statement is called a statement. These statements include items such as accounts receivable (what was owed to the company) and accounts payable (what the company owe). It can also be quite complicated with subjects like retained earnings and accelerated depreciation. This at higher levels of accounting and organization.

Much of accounting but also deals with basic accounting. This is the process that records every transaction, every bill paid, every dime owed, every dollar and cent spent and accumulated.

However, the owners of the company, which may be individual owners or millions of shareholders are more concerned with summaries of these transactions, contained in the financial statement. The financial statement summarizes a company’s assets. A value of an asset is what it costs when it was acquired. The financial statement also records what the sources of the assets were. Some assets are in loans that have to be returned. The benefits are also an asset of the company.

In what is called double entry bookkeeping, the liabilities are also summarized. Obviously, a company wants to show a greater amount of assets to offset liabilities and profitability. The management of these two elements is the essence of accounting. There is a system for doing this, not every company or individual can devise their own systems of accounting, the result would be chaos!

You might think it incredulous, but having news releases can really help build your internet marketing career. In what way, you may ask? Flexibility

The third principle of taxation is that of flexibility. A tax system should not be rigid, but it should be very flexible so that if there are any changes in the economy that might necessitate changes in the tax laws, it should be moderately easy to make these changes. A tax system where it is very difficult to make changes to legislation on taxes can be extremely difficult to run.

Certainty

The last principle of taxation that we shall be looking at is that of certainty. Despite the fact that a taxation system should be flexible to allow changes, it should not be fluid. A good taxation system should be firm so that one can easily predict how the situation will be in a few years. This is important as it creates a sense of stability especially to the investors.

These four taxation principles are extremely necessary for any country to consider if at all that country is looking forward to growing in the future.

Since you, as a marketer or business owner should be checking your Google Places Analytics daily or at least weekly to see trends and make revisions in your strategy for both Google Places and your other online advertising, you can quickly put up a news piece in the box in the upper right hand of your Google Analystics page, just under the “Post it to your place page.” And since Google seems like they forgot how to name things after they created the great name Google, I’ll name this for them. This is the easiest, fastest way to generate a following yet. Now just watch how Google integrates this into their other products. But for now, local business owners have yet another reason to love Google Places. Use this idea to put up the daily special at a restaurant, or the standings in the Tour de France for a bike shop. How about giving a one hour special for any retailer, and you give the special at the same time every day. You can even use it just to proclaim the most important aspect of your business’s special niche or reason for existence.

The clash of neoconservatism with the basic Republican concepts of small federal government and low levels of taxation has created a chasm in the Republican party. On one hand neoconservatism has its basis in the three main principles of the unilateral use of force, the belief in preventive action to avoid threats, and the proactive spreading of democracy. On the other hand at the core of the Republican party and conservatives in general is conservative fiscal policy, small federal government, and low tax rates. This creates a sharp divide in the Republican party, because the implementation of neoconservative values necessarily goes against the most basic of conservative values. The result, is imperfect, and will lead to impractical policy positions from Republican candidates, such as saying no to tax cuts while saying yes to the huge government spending that is necessarily the result of the War in Iraq. This has become a growing problem in the McCain campaign as can be seen with his recent back and forth on tax cuts, as well as his back and forth on the Bush tax cuts.

This has come up again very recently in a new light. It seems that McCain felt that he needed to be for the tax cuts to those making over $250,000 a year to win the Republican primaries, but now it seems McCain has realized that if we want a balanced budget again we must increase taxes. His campaign is now stumbling upon a dangerous ledge between reality and what the traditionally conservative base wants to hear from him. The Republicans need to find a way to reconcile with the fact that you can’t have the war and no increase in taxes when the federal budget deficit for 2009 is predicted to be almost half a trillion dollars.

McCain’s efforts to somehow bridge this divide have been met with retaliation from his base. Most notably, after recent comments, a conservative group named Club for Growth wrote an open letter to McCain which said, “When asked if you would be open to raising the payroll tax, you refused to rule out a tax increase, saying ‘There is nothing that’s off the table.’ This statement was particularly shocking because you have been adamant in your opposition to raising taxes under any circumstances.”

While this divide certainly won’t find reconciliation during this year’s campaign signal, conservatives need to look at their candidates and realize that war means increased federal government which in turn means increased taxation. Its as if the Republican party has forgotten this connection, which is not only deeply disturbing, but threatens the economic future of our country by creating massive federal budget deficits year after year.
